HP OpenVMS Version 8.3 New Features and Documentation Overview

  • SYS$ACM-Enabled LOGINOUT.EXE and SETP0.EXE for LDAP authentication.

Programming Features include:

  • HP C Run-Time Library (CRTL) enhancements for symbolic links, POSIX pathnames, and byte-range locking.
  • Sub-second deadlock wait support for the lock manager.
  • Debugger improvements for C++ (operator names, destructors, templates) and Ada support, automatic module loading, and NaT support.
  • Kerberos Version 3.0 with AES encryption and Kerberized SSH support.
  • Linker and Librarian utility enhancements for demangled names.
  • RMS global buffer improvements (P2 space mapping, new sizing options).
  • HP Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Version 1.3 as a System Integrated Product.
  • New system service item codes and an enhanced Traceback Facility.

Associated Products see updates or new versions for:

  • HP Distributed NetBeans for OpenVMS.
  • HP Secure Web Browser and Secure Web Server for OpenVMS.
  • HP TCP/IP Services Version 5.6, including BIND 9, NFS enhancements, Kerberos support for SSH and TELNET, and IPv6 support.
