Dear Customer,
Thank you for your purchase of the AlphaServer 1000A Upgrade Option. This unit will allow
you to transfer the memory, hard disk drives, CD-ROM and other options from your AlphaServer
1000. The resulting system will be an AlphaServer 1000A with a fast wide SCSI controller and an
increased number of PCI slots (three primary and four on secondary bridge).

Please note the Software Revision you are running on the AlphaServer 1000 and compare with the
Minimum Software Revisions required to install the AlphaServer 1000A Upgrade Option, which are
listed in Table 2.

If your software revision is lower than those listed in Table 2, you must order new software to run
AlphaServer 1000A and install on completed system.
If your software revision is at the current level listed or higher, then it is compatible with the
AlphaServer 1000A.
Please refer the AlphaServer 1000 Owner’s Guide - (EK-DTLSV-OG) for information on installation,
removal and replacement procedures.
