AlphaServer 1000 to AlphaServer 1000A Upgrade Option - Customer Notice

This document is a customer notice from February 1996 detailing the AlphaServer 1000 to AlphaServer 1000A Upgrade Option.

The upgrade allows users to transfer memory, hard drives, CD-ROM, and other options from their AlphaServer 1000, resulting in an AlphaServer 1000A with a fast wide SCSI controller and increased PCI slots (three primary, four secondary). The notice itemizes the parts included in the upgrade kit (CPU, System Module, Power Supply, Documentation Kit, and 64 Mb ECC SIMM).

It also provides critical instructions regarding software compatibility: customers must compare their current software revisions (Windows NT Server, UNIX, OVMS) against specified minimums. If the current software is below the required version, new software must be acquired and installed; otherwise, it is compatible.
