DEC WANCcontroller 220 (DSB32) VAXBI Synchronous Communications Controller Expand your VAXBI Synchronous Communications The DEC WANCcontroller 220 (DSB32) is a two-line synchronous communications controller designed specifically for Digital’s VAXBI systems. It provides direct connection to VAXBI environments for public data networks, private corporate networks, and local hardwired links, insuring optimum performance and reliability. Computer-to-computer communications or computer-to-network communications are facilitated with the DSB32. Communications can be established with X.25, DECnet, and IBM networks by using Digital standard layered software. The DSB32 provides up to two lines for VAXBI communications access. Since these lines are independently controlled, different protocols can run simultaneously on each of the two lines. The DSB32 consists of a module and a cabinet kit. The module contains a 32-bit communications microprocessor with the power of VAX architecture. The cabinet kit includes a distribution panel with two 50-pin line connectors and four ribbon cables to interconnect the module and panel. Adapter cables connect the panel’s line interfaces and provide compatibility with the desired interface standard. Extension cables connect the adapter cables to the transmission interfaces, e.g. modems. Adapter and extension cables must be ordered separately. dlijglilt) Highlights = 1 or 2 synchronous data channels allowing concurrent communications using different protocols. = 32-bit microprocessor providing the power of VAX architecture.
