DEC 7000/10000 Diagnostics and Module Level Repair Student Workbook

This student workbook is a 5-day lecture-lab course designed for support-level Digital Service Engineers (DSEs) to provide maintenance for DEC 7000 and 10000 systems. The course covers system overview, power subsystem, advanced console operations, LASER System Bus (LSB) protocol, memory module operation and error registers, processor operation and error registers, LSB I/O operation, and fault management. It emphasizes error detection and diagnosis using errorlogs and onboard diagnostics. Appendices provide reference material on XMI I/O modules, error registers, and errorlog examples. The target audience is DSEs experienced with VAX 6000/9000 systems who have completed the 7000/10000 System Level 1 Maintenance Course.
