Multi-Purpose Source Type K731

This document describes the K731 Multi-Purpose Source, a triple-thickness module designed for K-series systems. It operates by converting a center-tapped 12.6V AC input into 1 amp of DC power, enough to support up to 32 modules. In addition to power, the module provides three specialized control signals:

• Turn-on Level: Provides a ground signal during the initial power-up phase, useful for initializing flip-flops to a known state.
• OK Level: Signals the status of the supply voltage, outputting to ground once the voltage reaches 90% of its final value.
• Line Sync: Allows external gates (such as the K113 or K123) to synchronize with AC zero-crossings, facilitating the creation of real-time clocks or phase-locked loops.

The module is short-circuit proof and is typically installed in K941 mounting bars.
