DESCRIPTION

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

The Enterprise Capacity and Performance (ECP) Data
Collector provides data collecting capabilities to input to
ECP Analyzer and/or ECP Planner for OpenVMS and
Compaq® Tru64™ UNIX® for performance analysis and
capacity forecasting. The data can also be used by the
PAWZ Server via the PAWZ Agent to provide a web-based
interface to view performance analysis graphs. The Data
Collector metrics include CPU, disk I/O, memory, process,
network, lock, cluster, and diskset configuration
information.

Any configuration that supports one of:

The Collector runs on a Sampling/Polling basis on
supported UNIX, Windows NT, and OpenVMS systems. In
addition an Event based collector is available for
OpenVMS. The Collector can be activated either through
the Motif GUI or command line interface, or through PAWZ.
Users can tell the Collector when to start/stop, request
status, and determine where the created files will be stored.

Year 2000 Ready is defined: "Year 2000 Ready" products
are defined by Compaq as products capable of accurately
processing, providing, and/or receiving date data from, into
and between the twentieth and the twenty-first centuries,
and the years 1999 and 2000, including leap year
calculations, when used in accordance with the associated
Compaq product documentation and provided that all
hardware, firmware and software used in combination with
such Compaq products properly exchange accurate date
data with the Compaq products.

This software is furnished only under a version specific
license. If you are currently a Compaq Software Product
Services Subscriber for this product contact your Compaq
Customer Services representative to obtain a new V5.2
license. If you are not a Compaq Software Product
Services Subscriber contact your Compaq Customer
Services representative to purchase a V5.2 update license.

SOFTWARE WARRANTY
Warranty for this software product is provided by
Compaq with the purchase of a license for the product
as defined in the Software Warranty Addendum of this
SPD.

There are three distinct licensing processes, depending on
the Operating System:

Compaq, the Compaq logo, and the DIGITAL logo are
registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

1) License Management Facility:

Windows NT is a registered trademark of Microsoft
Corporation.

For OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX, the ECP Data Collector
supports the License Management Facility.

License units for this product are allocated on an Unlimited
System Use basis.

For more information on the License Management Facility,
refer to the OpenVMS Operating System Software Product
Description (SPD 25.01.xx) or the OpenVMS Operating
System documentation. For Tru64 UNIX, refer to SPD
41.61.xx.

2) License Key Request form:

Confidential computer software: A valid license from
Compaq is required for possession, use or copying.

Computer Software, Computer Software Documentation,
and Technical Data for Commercial Items are licensed to
the U.S. Government under vendor’s standard commercial
license.

For HP-UX, IBM AIX, and Sun Solaris, the ECP Data
Collector requires an ECP.license file.
To receive the ECP.license file:
1.

Complete the ECP Data Collector License Key
Request Form

E-mail or FAX the request form to Compaq.

Customers receive their ECP.license file via return E-mail
or FAX within two business days.
