processing unit and the VAXELN operating system.

Installing the rtVAX 3500
The base model rtVAX 3500 is diskless. If you are installing the diskless
rtVAX 3500, disregard all references to disk drives and tape drives in this

installation guide. Disk drives and tape drives are available as options for
this system. See Technical Information in your hardware information kit for
more information about options.

Options
The base model rtVAX 3500 is diskless; however, mass storage options are

available for this system. See Chapter 2 of Technical Information in your
hardware information kit for more information about options.
NOTE:

The rtVAX 3500 1s designed for use as a single-user system.

Some of the

devices described in this guide are designed for use in multi-user environments and
may not be suitable for an rtVAX 3500. Contact your Digital representative if you

have any questions about whether use of a specific device is appropriate for your
rtVAX 3500 systen:.
