Full recharging may take up to three hours. CAUTION: Do not operate drill with charger in place. Checking Drill (continued) Put drill in “FWD" (forward) position. Turn drill on when ready to use. Installing Drill Bit Install drill bit so that 6 mm (1/4 in) of bit insulation protrudes from drill. Tighten with chuck key. 6 mm (%4 in) Unpacking Transceiver Loosen clamp block screw with hex wrench. CLAMP BLOCK SCREW Unpacking Transceiver (continued) Remove clamp block and foam. N CONTACTS 11 Inspecting Transceiver (continued) CAUTION: Probe screw must not be screwed down. Loosen probe screw, if necessary. PROBE SCREW 12 Choosing Transceiver Direction Find black band (every 2.5 m) on coaxial cable. BLACK BAND Find transceiver connector (may be located at either end of transceiver). TRANSCEIVER CONNECTOR 13 Positioning Transceiver Place transceiver parallel to coaxial cable so that transceiver connector points towards transceiver cable. Loosen cable clamps on cable guide with hex wrench., RS 3 / W CABLE GUIDE % \\~, CABLE CLAMPS Installing Cable Guide Place cable guide on coaxial cable as shown. Center selected black band over notches in cable guide. Note: Guide may be placed on cable from any angle. CABLE GUIDE COAXIAL ¢/ CABLE Tightening Cable Guide Close cable clamps over cable. Securely tighten clamps with hex wrench. CAUTION: To avoid damage to cable, do not overtighten. 17 Installing Drill Guide DRILL GUIDE (PRESS TO OPEN) 18 Drilling Cable Drill from both sides of drill guide. Drill all the way in until drill bit stops against drill guide. Removing Drill Guide CAUTION: Do not loosen cable clamps. 20 Installing Cable onto Transceiver Push cable into coaxial cable channel. Note: Drill holes must line up with probe in cable channel. 21 Installing Clamp Block 4 22 ¢, /L CABLEIN CHANNEL N Tightening Clamp Block Screw Tighten clamp block screw with hex wrench. Tightening Probe Screw Tighten probe screw with hex wrench. 24 Removing Cable Guide Loosen cable clamps with hex wrench. Remove cable guide. @ 25 Opening Connector Latch Slide cable connector latch to open position. .,I,— — — @[Onoooooooooong C}| TRANSCEIVER CABLE CONNECTOR iN OPEN POSITION 26 Attaching Transceiver Cable Attach transceiver cable to transceiver cable connector. 27 Closing Connector Latch Slide cable connector latch to closed position, and check that connection is secure. 28 Connecting Cables Connect transceiver cable to coaxial cable at transceiver cable connector. 29 15 cm (6 in) from Labeling Transceiver Blank label is for your use to indicate additional information about transceiver.
