This document serves as a technical diagnostic manual for the PDP-8/E Instruction Test 2. The program is designed to perform extensive testing of autoindexing, indirect addressing, and the DCA instruction, along with minimal verification for various other instructions including AND, TAD, ISZ, JMS, JMP, and processor IOTs.

Key details include:

• Prerequisites: Requires a PDP-8/E with a teletype and the standard binary loader. Users are advised to run MAINDEC-8E-D0A(N) first.
• Operation: The program runs in memory locations 0000–4416. Operators start the test by setting the switch register to 200, pressing load address, and then pushing clear and continue.
• Error Handling: If an error occurs, the program triggers a programmed halt. Operators can debug these errors by replacing the halt instruction with a jump to re-loop on the specific failing test segment, facilitating oscilloscope analysis.
• Monitoring: The program provides audible feedback by ringing the teletype bell approximately every 5 seconds to confirm that the test is executing correctly.
