CATACAL Addendum - Assembling CATACAL

This document provides a detailed, step-by-step procedure for generating a new binary file for the CATACAL program. The process is necessary when the CATACAL source program has been modified and requires re-assembly. The instructions involve using a DIAL-MS system, loading various tapes, and executing a series of commands to clear working areas, assemble different components like CLEARSYM, CAT2, and CAT3, and save the binary output. A key consideration in the assembly process is the machine's hardware configuration, specifically the presence of the EAE (Extended Arithmetic Element) option, which dictates whether CAT1E or CAT2 should be used to generate the final CATACAL or CATACAL(E) binary file.
