SA7x/6000 Cabinet Series Installation Guide

This document is an installation guide for the SA7x/6000 Cabinet Series Upgrades, intended for qualified Digital Services engineers.

• Unpacking SA7x storage options and related upgrade kits.
• Adhering to critical safety and electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions during installation.
• Installing the SA70-CK kit and various SA7x storage enclosures into existing VAX 6000-series processor cabinets. This includes steps like powering down the cabinet, replacing power controllers if necessary, installing cabinet hardware (spring clips, guide rails), securing the SA7x enclosure, and routing cables.
• Understanding the SA7x front and rear panel controls and indicators.
• Procedures for powering up the SA7x enclosure, placing disk drives online/offline, and setting drive unit numbers.
• Installing additional RA7x disk drives into the enclosures.
