Release Notes for Internet AlphaServer System

Order Number: EK-DINPH-RN

This document, dated March 1995, provides release notes for installing and starting up the Digital Internet AlphaServer System.

For installation, it outlines connecting the VT510 console: the console signal cable connects the H8571-J adaptor (which plugs into the server's COM1 port) to the VT510's COM2 port, and the VT510 keyboard cable connects to the VT510.

For starting the system (which comes preloaded with Digital UNIX and internet software), users must first configure the VT510 console. This involves powering it on, pressing F3 for setup, navigating to "Communications" -> "Port Select", selecting "S1=COM2", then saving settings and exiting. After powering on the system unit and external devices, and allowing for power-on self-tests, users should enter SET BOOT_OSFLAGS A followed by BOOT at the >>> prompt to start the system.
