DEChub ONE Installation

This document, "DEChub ONE Installation" (January 1994), serves as an installation manual for the DEChub ONE single-slot Ethernet hub.

The DEChub ONE's primary function is to enable DEChub 900 full-height network modules to operate as standalone devices. It provides power to these modules (up to 90 watts) and offers various connectivity and management options. Key features include an Attachment Unit Interface (AUI) for connecting to an Ethernet backbone, with support for optional Media Attachment Units (MAUs) for fiber-optic, ThinWire, or twisted-pair LAN connections. It also includes an out-of-band management (OBM) port for remote network management via SNMP/SLIP and a setup port for local configuration. The DEChub ONE supports flexible tabletop and rack-mounting, allowing for scalable network growth through stacking.

The manual details the installation process, covering how to attach modules, mount the hub, and connect various cables (AUI, OBM, setup ports). It also includes sections on troubleshooting using LED indicators, product specifications (physical, environmental, acoustical), associated documentation, and methods for accessing MIBs, RFCs, and release notes online via anonymous FTP or email.
