This manual describes the PDP-15 PATCH Utility Program, a tool designed for users to view and modify System Programs and data on specific device data blocks within either the ADVANCED Software System (ADSS) or Disk Operating System (DOS) environments.
The PATCH program offers three primary functions:
READR command converts relocatable files into absolute SYS files, installing them as System Programs on a system device. This process includes address relocation and the addition of a Bank Bit Initialization (BBI) routine, automatically updating System Block (SYSBLK) parameters.READ command allows the transfer of absolute "Patch files" from an auxiliary input device (.DAT-10) to a selected program or data block on the primary device (.DAT-14). This enables partial or complete replacement of existing programs or data.L (List) and LR (List Relocated) commands, along with specific commands for SYSBLK parameters.User commands and responses are handled via a console/printer, while files to be patched are assigned to .DAT-14 and auxiliary input files to .DAT-10. The manual assumes the reader is familiar with PDP-15 equipment operation and the specific monitor software system in use.
