This document describes MAGSPY, a PDP-12 program designed to display data from a LINC-tape using a "moving window" on the PDP-12 scope. It allows users to scan data, which can be interpreted either as waveforms or as packed ASCII characters, with the display rate controlled by the Analog-Digital Knob 7.
The program requires a PDP-12A system, including a LINC-tape drive, A-D circuits, Teletype, Scope, and 4K of core. Operating procedures detail how to start the program, call MAGSPY, and select options such as displaying explanations, configuring tape blocks and units, or returning to the DIAL system. Users can toggle between waveform and text display modes using Sense Switch 0, and adjust text size (full or half) with Sense Switch 1. The document also provides a list of example waveform data stored under a Source Program called TESTDATA, including various filtered waveforms, ECG data, sine waves, and Gaussian distributions. A restart procedure is available to change program settings.
