DIGITAL PowerStorm 4D60T Bracket for the DIGITAL Custom AlphaServer 4100 Installation Information

This document provides instructions for modifying and installing a DIGITAL PowerStorm 4D60T graphics option into a DIGITAL custom AlphaServer 4100 system using the 2T-CATUP-HL bracket kit.

The bracket kit includes a card extender, a PCI module plate, and a PCI air flow plate.

The installation procedure involves two main phases:

1. Modifying the PowerStorm 4D60T Graphics Option: This involves removing the original card extender and PCI module plate from the graphics module and replacing them with the new components supplied in the bracket kit. A key caution is to wear an antistatic wriststrap when handling the module to prevent damage.
2. Installing the Modified Graphics Option into the AlphaServer 4100: This phase requires preparing the AlphaServer by performing an orderly shutdown, removing the front bezel, powering down and disconnecting the system, extending the chassis for service (with a warning about stabilizing features), and removing the right side cover. Once the server is prepared, a suitable PCI option slot pair is selected, and the modified PowerStorm 4D60T module is inserted and secured, followed by the installation of the PCI air flow plate.
