BA655 SCSI Disk and Tape PIU Installation Guide

This document is the BA655 SCSI Disk and Tape PIU Installation Guide, intended for Digital customer service engineers and self-maintenance customers.

The guide details the installation of the BA655 Peripheral Interface Unit (PIU), which provides additional SCSI I/O capacity. The BA655 PIU option includes an enclosure, two modular expansion shelves, and two power supplies. However, essential components like the KZMSA adapter, actual disk/tape storage units, and SCSI cables must be ordered separately.

• Installation: Step-by-step instructions for removing the cabinet airflow plate, physically installing the BA655 PIU into an H9F00-Ax or H9F00-Bx cabinet, cabling the unit, and installing the disk or tape devices.
