Replacing a Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop Hub

This document provides instructions for replacing a Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop Hub (DS-DHGGA-CA).

Key Steps:

1. Preparation: Before installing the new hub, turn off all AC power to the subsystem and the server/host.
2. Install the Hub: Place the replacement hub in the same location as the failed one to ensure existing cables can reach.
3. Attach Cables: Connect all data cables to the hub's ports, tightening the connector jackscrews. Any hub port can be used.
4. Power On Hub: Connect the AC power cord to the hub. It will power on immediately, indicated by one green power lamp and nine amber port lamps.
5. Power On Subsystem: Turn on the AC power switch for the subsystem. It will begin to initialize.
6. Power On Server/Host: Turn on the AC power switch for the server/host. It will also begin to initialize.
7. System Ready: The system is ready when the hub port lamps for each connected cable extinguish.
