Installing an HSZ70 Array Controller

This document provides step-by-step instructions for replacing an HSZ70 Array Controller in both single and dual-redundant configurations.

1. Dual-Redundant Configurations:

   • Removal: Involves connecting to the operational controller, disabling failover (SET NOFAILOVER), using the FRUTIL utility to remove the "other controller," and then physically removing it (including saving the program card and ESD cover).
   • Installation: Guides on indicating readiness to FRUTIL, inserting the new controller, connecting the trilink, restarting the new controller (RESTART OTHER_CONTROLLER), inserting the program card, re-establishing dual-redundancy (SET FAILOVER COPY=THIS_CONTROLLER), installing patches, and mounting storage units.

2. Single Configurations:

   • Removal: Details disconnecting storage units, using the Fault Management Utility (FMU) for diagnostics, shutting down the controller (SHUTDOWN THIS_CONTROLLER), and then physically removing it (saving the program card and ESD cover).
