VAX 6000 Series Installation Guide

This document, the "VAX 6000 Series Installation Guide," is intended for Digital customer service engineers and self-maintenance customers responsible for installing a VAX 6000 series system.

The guide provides comprehensive instructions covering:

1. Site Preparation: Guidelines for floor space, environmental conditions, cabinet sizes, and power requirements.
2. Unpacking: Steps for inspecting the shipment, collecting necessary tools, removing packing materials, leveling the cabinet, and connecting essential cables (console terminal, Ethernet, FDDI).
3. Connecting to DSSI Subsystems: Details on cabling and connecting TF tape and RF disk drives (Integrated Storage Elements or ISEs) using the KFMSA adapter, including configuration and setting node IDs.
4. Connecting to CI VAXclusters: Instructions for selecting operating modes on XMI and VAXBI bus adapters (CIXCD and CIBCA) and cabling the system to a Star Coupler.
