IAS Master Index and Documentation Directory

This document, published by Digital Equipment Corporation in May 1990, serves as the "IAS Master Index and Documentation Directory" for the IAS Version 3.4 operating system. It functions as a guide to the extensive IAS documentation set, which includes thirty individual manuals. The document is divided into two primary sections: a documentation directory and a master index.

The Documentation Directory provides a detailed overview and synopsis of each manual within the IAS documentation set. These manuals are organized into seven volumes covering areas such as System Management, User References, Utilities, Program Development, Executive, System Services, and Record Management Services. For each manual, the directory outlines its content and identifies its intended audience, which includes system managers, operators, system programmers, and applications programmers.

The Master Index compiles all index entries from every manual in the IAS documentation set. This comprehensive index allows users to efficiently locate specific topics and information across the entire collection of IAS manuals.
