This document introduces DECnet/OSI Version 7.0 for OpenVMS, a networking software product released in December 1995. It implements Phase V of the Digital Network Architecture (DNA), enabling OpenVMS systems to connect with both multivendor networks adhering to Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) specifications and traditional DECnet networks.
Key features include support for 64-bit virtual addresses, new cluster configuration options, the ability to import and export into a Phase IV database, Graphical User Interface (GUI) support for X.25 entities, and "out-of-the-box" performance enhancements.
Customers are advised to consult the product's Software Product Description (SPD) and Planning Guide for installation and usage, with specific instructions provided for upgrades from earlier versions, VAX Message Router X.400 Gateway users, or third-party TCP/IP integration. Digital also encourages customers to provide feedback on the documentation.
