This document describes new features introduced in DECamds, designed to enhance monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities for OpenVMS systems and clusters. These features are detailed in Version 7.0 of the DECamds User's Guide and include:
- New Fields in the System Overview window: Adds "Number of Processes in CPU Queues," "Operating System Version," and "Hardware Model" to provide more comprehensive node information.
- Single Disk Summary window: Offers node-specific summary data for available disks within a group, aiding in identifying nodes with high I/O rates or inconsistent disk states.
- New Cluster Windows:
- Cluster Transition/Overview Summary window: Provides detailed information about each node's membership and status within a VMScluster, including summary statistics and a "LOVOTE" event for quorum issues.
- System Communication Architecture (SCA) Summary window: Displays virtual circuit and connection information between OpenVMS nodes in a cluster, allows viewing system applications, and alerts to "LOSTVC" (lost virtual circuit) events.
- Network Interconnect System Communication Architecture (NISCA) Summary window: Delivers in-depth LAN (Ethernet or FDDI) connection statistics (e.g., transmit/receive packets, congestion control) between nodes, primarily for diagnosing LAN-related cluster problems.
