This document outlines the essential information for installing HP OpenVMS Enterprise Directory Version 5.4, which is an upgrade from Version 5.3.
Before Installation:
- Users must read the Release Notes and Installation Guide.
Prerequisite Software:
- Base Operating System: OpenVMS[TM] for Alpha V7.3-2 or later, OR OpenVMS[TM] for Industry Standard 64 (I64) V8.2 or later for Integrity Servers.
- For I64 Systems: Java 1.4.2-1 or later is also required.
- Optional Software (depending on OpenVMS version and desired functionality like LDAP, X.500, or SSL):
- HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS (V5.4 or V5.5 or later) for RFC1006 connections.
- HP SSL for OpenVMS (V1.1 or later) for LDAPv3 over SSL.
- DECnet-Plus for OpenVMS (V7.3-2 or V8.2 or later, with OSAK) for X.500 protocols over an OSI network.
New Functions in this Release:
- Support for logging of DSA Events in a pure TCP/IP environment.
- Introduction of dual RFC1006 listeners to enhance network availability of the DSA in a pure TCP/IP environment.
Restrictions:
- On OpenVMS[TM] I64 systems, Java 1.4.2-1 must be installed before configuring the HP Administrator for Enterprise Directory Management Utility.
