This document, dated May 2012, introduces a new installation DVD titled "OpenVMS I64 V8.4 with Update 700" (BA322-10035).

The primary purpose of this DVD is to enable the installation of the OpenVMS operating environment on disk devices served by SAS SMART Array controllers configured in Host Bus Adapter (HBA) mode. Previous OpenVMS installation DVDs only supported these controllers in RAID mode.

Additionally, this new DVD automatically installs the VMS84I_UPDATE-V0700 kit after the OpenVMS V8.4 operating system, providing further updates. It supersedes the "OpenVMS Version 8.4 for Integrity i2 servers" DVD (BA322-10031) released in November 2011.

The DVD supports installation on:

• HP Integrity BL8x0c i2 Server Blades
• HP Integrity rx2800 i2 Servers
• SAS SMART Array based disk devices in either HBA or RAID mode
• Any other Integrity system supported by OpenVMS V8.4

This installation media is included with new HP OpenVMS V8.4 for Integrity OE purchases, bundled with the June 2012 quarterly update for customers with a Software Updates Service contract, and available as an ISO image. It is not applicable to OpenVMS for Alpha systems.
