This document is the "HP Translated Image Environment for OpenVMS Installing Guide," published in February 2005. It provides instructions for installing and deinstalling the Translated Image Environment (TIE) for OpenVMS, specifically on I64 (Itanium) systems, using the POLYCENTER Software Installation utility.

Key installation requirements include:

• OpenVMS I64 Version 8.2 or higher.
• Approximately 319,825 disk blocks of free space.
• Deinstallation of any previous TIE versions before a new installation.

The installation process begins by running the $ PROD INSTALL TIE command, with the guide detailing the interactive prompts where users can accept default options. Crucially, after installation, users must execute the @SYS$STARTUP:TIE$STARTUP.COM procedure before using any translated program. This command should also be added to either SYS$MANAGER:SYLOGIN.COM or the user's LOGIN.COM file, followed by a logout and login to ensure it takes effect.

For deinstallation, the $ PROD REMOVE * command is used, allowing the user to select "HP I64VMS TIE V1.0" from a list of installed products. The document also lists the various files installed as part of the TIE.
