CD Booklet

This booklet, published in February 1994 for OpenVMS AXP Version T6.1-FT4, serves as a guide to the contents of the accompanying Compact Disc (CD). Its primary purpose is to provide instructions and guidelines for installing or upgrading the OpenVMS AXP operating system using the CD.

• Installation: Recommended for new AXP systems, when overwriting an existing system disk's contents, or when an upgrade is not feasible (e.g., due to modified system directory names). Caution: Installation initializes the system disk, erasing all data.
• Upgrading: Recommended for users seeking to update their OpenVMS AXP operating system while preserving user files and layered software. A system must be running OpenVMS AXP Version 1.5 or higher to upgrade. Caution: System disk directory changes can prevent a successful upgrade; restoring to a standard structure is advised.
