HP OpenVMS System Services Reference Manual 2

This document is the HP OpenVMS System Services Reference Manual: GETUTC–Z, published in July 2006 for OpenVMS I64 Version 8.3 and OpenVMS Alpha Version 8.3.

It serves as a comprehensive guide for system and application programmers on the routines used by the HP OpenVMS operating system to control resources, facilitate interprocess communication, manage I/O, and perform other operating system functions. A significant portion of the manual details support for 64-bit virtual memory addressing in Alpha and I64 systems, explaining how new and enhanced services manage this address space, and clarifying the use of the _64 suffix for such services.

Each system service description includes its format, C prototype, arguments, operational details, required access/privileges, quotas, related services, and the various condition values it can return. The manual also lists obsolete services and recommends current replacements.
