The PDP-8 Cookbook

This document, "THE PDP-8 COOKBOOK, VOLUME 2", is a program library dated May 1, 1973. Authored primarily by Floor Anthoni of the Medical Biological Laboratory TNO in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, with contributions from others, it serves as a collection of assembly language (PAL III, PAL-D, PAL-8) programming modules and subroutines for the PDP-8 computer.

The volume is organized into three parts:

1. A directory of all subroutine names, a directory selected by functional keywords, names and contributions of authors, and definitions of keywords.
2. Revisions to subroutines found in "THE PDP-8 COOKBOOK, VOLUME 1".
3. A collection of 44 new program modules.

The modules cover a wide range of functionalities, including arithmetic, string manipulation, file operations, data sorting, various data conversions (binary, octal, decimal, ASCII, Telex), program control, input/output, interrupt handling, graphics, signal processing, memory management (e.g., freecore, rotating buffers, stacks), and time/date functions.

A critical disclaimer notes that this is a "USER program" with no quality control imposed by DECUS, serving solely as a clearing house for community-contributed code without warranty or responsibility for its accuracy or functioning.
