This document describes "SPCWAR" (DECUS No. L-39), a two-player spaceship combat game from August 1968, developed/modified by E. Duffin at the University of Pennsylvania.
Players control individual spaceships, "Snoopy" and "Red Baron," displayed on a screen. Movement is controlled using LINC knobs (Snoopy: 0 & 1 for horizontal/vertical; Red Baron: 6 & 7), and cannons are fired using sense switches (Snoopy: SNS 0; Red Baron: SNS 5). Ships exhibit wrap-around movement, reappearing on the opposite side of the screen.
The objective is to destroy the opponent's ship with a cannon; a direct hit disintegrates the target and ends the game. Collisions, however, destroy both ships. The game provides on-screen messages for the outcome, such as "COLLISION" or "SNOOPY PREVAILS." The program is loaded via LAP6 and can be started or reinitialized by pressing the EOL key.
