This document, a "System Support Addendum" for "PATHWORKS for DOS, Version 4.1," details the hardware and software configurations supported by the product.

General Hardware Requirements:

• PCs: Intel 8086- to 80486-based personal computers listed in a "Supported Base Systems Table."

• Video: A wide range of video adapters are supported, including MDA, CGA, EGA, VGA, SVGA, and various proprietary boards from Compaq, Hercules, Olivetti, and Digital.

Optional Hardware & Software:

• The software supports Expanded Memory Specification (EMS) Version 4.0.
• Specific Digital printers (e.g., LA75, DEClaser series) and Digital keyboards (e.g., LK250) and mice are supported.
• Microsoft Windows 3.0/3.00A is supported, with specific drivers for Digital printers, mice, and keyboards provided (though a separate Microsoft-compatible mouse driver is required for Windows).
• Optional PATHWORKS for DOS components like TCP/IP and Netware Coexistence are available.

PC DECwindows Motif Specifics:

• Requires Intel 80286- to 80486-based PCs.
• Memory: Needs 1MB free to start, and 1-4MB for running X Window System applications, supporting XMS and VCPI 80386 expanded memory managers.
• Disk Space: Requires an additional 1-2MB for temporary files.
• Video: Supports an extensive list of high-resolution video adapters (note that some required drivers are not included in the kit).
• Peripherals: Requires a Microsoft-compatible mouse driver (not included) and supports various IBM and Digital keyboards.

Software Compatibility:

• PATHWORKS for DOS 4.1 is compatible with various vendor-specific DOS versions (from v3.3 to v5.0), with a recommendation to use the PC vendor's supplied OS or Microsoft DOS 5.0.
• It functions with PATHWORKS servers running on VMS (v4.1), ULTRIX (v1.0/1.1), and OS/2 (v1.1/2.0).
