• Security & Transportability: Data stored in removable, shock-mounted canisters (like the RF30, RF71, RZ55, and RZ65 models) can be easily secured in off-site locations or transported between systems. Physical and software safeguards prevent unauthorized removal while active.
• Flexibility & Scalability: Solutions are offered in various configurations to meet different needs, including tabletop (SCSI-based for VAX/RISC desktops), rackmounted (Q-bus-based for MicroVAX, expandable up to 2.4 GB), and pedestal-mounted (Q-bus-based for MicroVAX). Custom platform systems combining CPUs with storage are also available.
• Data Integrity & Reliability: The systems ensure high data integrity through features like automatic bad block replacement, a 264-bit Error Correction Code (ECC), high-density media technology (VLSI), and heat sensors. Data availability is maximized through Digital Storage Architecture (DSA) functionality and predictive tools like VAXsimPLUS.
• Compact Design: The quiet, compact design makes them well-suited for various computing environments, from desktops to data centers.
