DEClaser 5100 Printer Ethernet Card Upgrade

This document is an installation guide for upgrading the Ethernet Card (Network Interface Card) and ROM SIMM in a DEClaser 5100 Printer.

The guide details two primary procedures:

1. Changing the daughter card on the network interface card.
2. Changing a ROM SIMM.

Before starting the upgrade, it is critical to print a configuration status report from the network card, as the card will reset to default values after the upgrade. If printing this report is disabled, users are instructed to enable it using the NPmanage or nsconfig utility.

The step-by-step installation process involves:

1. Opening the printer.
2. Removing the existing network interface card.
3. Removing the old daughter card from the network interface card.
4. Installing the new daughter card onto the network interface card.
5. Reinstalling the network interface card into the printer.
6. Installing the new ROM SIMM (referring to a separate ROM SIMM Upgrade kit for specific instructions).
7. Closing the printer.

After the physical installation, the network interface card must be reconfigured to the site's settings using the NPmanage or nsconfig utility. The document also includes a general caution regarding static electricity and how to discharge it to prevent damage to the printer.
