Rko5 Annual Procedure

This document outlines the annual maintenance and calibration procedures for RK05 disk drives, intended to ensure they are operating correctly and within power specifications. The document is divided into several key sections:

• Prerequisites: Lists necessary tools (such as an oscilloscope and multimeter) and emphasizes safety precautions, specifically regarding the sensitive backplane and powerful servo motor.
• Cleaning and Inspection: Details a comprehensive physical inspection and cleaning process, including the air filter, spindle motor, drive belt, linear positioner bearings, and the blower assembly.
• Servo System Adjustments: Provides technical instructions for using the ALIGNX diagnostic program to calibrate various servo system parameters. This involves using an oscilloscope to monitor signals such as Sine/Cosine Amplitude and Offset, Velocity, and Acceleration, and adjusting corresponding potentiometers on the G938/G938YA PCB to ensure waveforms meet specifications.
• Attachments: Includes a summary table of the servo system potentiometers and their functions, as well as configuration settings for the RK05 Alignment Program.
