Summary

This document serves as a collection of mandatory software maintenance reports and technical documentation for the ETOS V5B system. The core content includes:

• Patch Instructions: Technical procedures for applying patches to correct specific software issues:

  • Scheduler Overload: Correcting a decision in the ETOS V5B scheduler that caused performance degradation (Figure F-44).
  • Run Queue Errors: Fixing an issue where the scheduler failed to properly remove jobs from the task table, preventing jobs from re-queuing (Figure F-45).
  • ACCNT.SV Error: Resolving a bug where the "ZERO" option failed to function on large accounts (Figure F-46).

• Data Corruption Fixes: A detailed, multi-step guide for identifying and repairing "corrupt map blocks" within the Master File Directory (MFD) (Figures F-47 through F-52). This includes using the FUTIL utility to dump memory, locate the corruption, and manually overwrite the bad data.

• General Administration: Includes a technical summary letter identifying high-priority system stability issues and a list of updates and revisions for the system guide.
