Dose-Response Routine

Order Number: XX-XXXXX-XX

This document describes a FOCAL computer program developed by the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1970 to facilitate biomedical dose-response analysis. Biomedical log dose-response curves are typically S-shaped, making comparative statistics difficult. This program simplifies this by transforming the curve into a straight line using probit conversion.

Users input dose values and percentage responses, and the program calculates and outputs the corresponding log dose and probit values. An expanded version for 8K systems also provides a scaled scattergram plot of log dose versus probit. The documentation includes the program's mathematical basis, operational instructions, source code, and references for further reading.
