Lap6-Dial to PS/8 Source File Converter

This document serves as the technical documentation and write-up for a program designed to convert ASCII source files from the LAP6-DIAL system to the PS/8 operating system.

Key details include:

• Functionality: The program, known as DIAL15, allows users running PS/8 on a PDP-12 with at least 8K of memory to read LAP6-DIAL files from LINCtape and convert them into a format compatible with PS/8.
• Usage: It utilizes a command decoder to specify input files (from LINCtape) and an output device. It can concatenate multiple input files into a single output file.
• Limitations and Bugs: The documentation notes that several features (such as handling directory or binary file conversions) were not implemented as of June 1972. It also lists known bugs, including improper error messaging and issues with finding specific files on the input tape.
• Included Software: The associated LINCtape also includes the VR12 Scope handler for PS/8, alongside the converter program.
