Pltkbd - Plotkeyboard

Order Number: DEC-L8-SFAO-D

This document serves as the program documentation for "PLTKBD," a DECUS program designed for the LINC-8 computer. Developed by R. Cooper at the Burden Neurological Institute in 1968, the program allows users to plot Teletype keyboard characters onto a CALCOMP 365 Plotter.

Key features include:

  • Compatibility: Uses the PROGOFOP (DEC-L8-SFAO-D) instruction set.
  • Functionality:

    • The LSW (Left Switch) controls character size.
    • SNSO allows for 90-degree character rotation.
    • ALT MODE A: Draws a "head stamp" icon, primarily used for electroencephalography.
    • ALT MODE B: Drops the drum by one inch to allow for alignment using the plotter's viewer crosswires.
    • ALT MODE C: Returns the program to the system GUIDE.
  • Error Handling: The program includes built-in protection against illegal input characters.

The remainder of the document provides the full source code and memory address mapping required for the implementation of the program.
