Mean

This document is a program library write-up for "MEAN," a software tool designed to calculate the mean and standard deviation of a set of numbers. Submitted in 1968 by T.D. Williams of the University of Bristol, the program is based on methods described in DECUSCOPE and utilizes specific subroutines (IFOR L8, OFOR L8, DBLFLT, and SQROOT). The documentation includes instructions for data entry, handling input errors, and notes that the program requires nearly the entire 2K memory capacity of a LINC computer.
