Five Statistical Programs for the PDP-8 or PDP-12

Order Number: XX-XXXXX-XX

This document contains a collection of five statistical programs written in FOCAL '69 for the Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-8 or PDP-12 computers. Created by Dr. Stephen J. Mayor in 1971, these programs are designed to take data input via a teletype or keyboard and perform the following calculations or routines:

  1. Student's T Test: Calculates the t-value and degrees of freedom for two groups of data.
  2. Dunnett's T-Test: Performs multiple comparisons of experimental groups against a single control group.
  3. Normalized Plot Routine: Normalizes and plots data using horizontal y-coordinates and vertical x-coordinate increments.
  4. Mean and Standard Deviation: Calculates these basic statistics for a set of data.
  5. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA): Performs a single-variable analysis of variance, outputting the F score, degrees of freedom, and within-group means squared.

The documentation notes that these programs require 8K of core memory if they are to be chained together, as they cannot be chained in a 4K system.
