This document describes a minor modification to the DEC MAGSPY program, which was originally distributed as part of the PDP-12 DEMO monitor system. Key changes and features include:
- Functionality: It operates similarly to the standard version but skips introductory and instruction frames, starting directly with a request for the tape block and unit number at address 4020 in Linc mode.
- Switch Controls: Sense switch 2 toggles the display of octal values for each word in a block, while switches 0 and 1 control the display mode (waveforms vs. large characters).
- Teletype Integration: Users can restart the DIAL system at any time during display by pressing the 'RETURN' key.
- Knob Reassignment: The display movement control has been moved from knob 7 to knob 4 to prevent conflicts with the DIAL editor mode. Instructions are provided for using the PATCH utility to reconfigure this to other analog input knobs if desired.
