Rk05 Subsystem Maintenance Spi Course

This document is a student workbook for a self-paced instruction (SPI) course on the maintenance of the RK05 disk subsystem, specifically for use with either the RK11 or RK8-E controllers. The workbook is divided into ten modules, covering physical descriptions, theory of operation for the various controller configurations (RK11D/E and RK8-E), component location, alignment and adjustment procedures, preventive maintenance, and subsystem diagnostics and troubleshooting.

The course is designed for Field Service engineers to develop the skills necessary to isolate malfunctions to the field-replaceable unit (FRU) level and perform the required repairs, alignments, and diagnostic tests. It includes detailed block diagrams, register bit definitions, instruction lists, and laboratory exercises to provide hands-on experience.
