Dual Fan Filler Assembly Installation - DIGITAL Personal Workstation

This document provides instructions for installing a Dual Fan Filler Assembly in a DIGITAL Personal Workstation, which is essential for cooling 10K RPM hard disks.

Key Information & Warnings:

• A maximum of two 10K RPM drives can be installed, always in the front bay.
• Each 10K drive requires a Dual Fan Filler Assembly; operating a drive without it voids the warranty.
• If installing new 10K RPM drives and existing drives are in the front bay, the existing drives must be moved to the rear bays.

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation: Power off the system, disconnect all external devices and power cord, allow the power supply to discharge, then remove the L-Cover, front bezel, front bezel filler panel, and EMI shield.
2. Assembly Installation: Install the hard disk(s) (referencing the User Guide for disk installation), feed the fan filler cable through the front drive bay, connect the power cable to the fan filler assembly, and then connect the fan filler cable to the hard drive. This process is repeated for a second 10K RPM drive if applicable.
3. Completion: Secure all cables, reinstall the front bezel (without the filler panel), reattach the L-cover, reconnect power and peripherals, and verify the filler fans are functioning upon system power-up.
