This document outlines the procedure for removing the factory-installed internal SCSI terminator from a Prioris™ XL 6000 Series Server. This removal is necessary if the user intends to utilize the external SCSI port on the server. The steps involve ensuring the system is powered off and unplugged, opening the chassis, locating the SCSI terminator connected to the internal SCSI cable, and detaching it. The internal SCSI cable is then re-routed and plugged into the internal portion of the external SCSI port's plug. After reassembling the server, an external SCSI device can be connected to the external port, with an emphasis on ensuring the external device is also properly terminated (either self-terminating or by using the previously removed terminator). A crucial warning states that the SCSI controller must be terminated before powering on the system, and never while it is "On," to prevent potential damage. The document concludes with instructions to power on the server and refers to the System Reference for additional SCSI information.
