Digital Personal Workstation Pentium Pro to Pentium™ II 266i Upgrade Kit

This document provides installation instructions for upgrading a Digital Personal Workstation (i-Series with a Pentium Pro processor) to a higher speed system with a Pentium™ II main logic board. The upgrade kit includes a new main logic board with processor, a support mounting bracket, a fan, an air duct, a speed button, screws, nylon washers, and this guide. The process involves powering down and disassembling the workstation (removing panels, bezel, and various internal subassemblies), transferring an existing fan, removing the old Pentium Pro main logic board, and then installing the new Pentium™ II main logic board. Key steps include attaching a new support bracket, transferring SIMMs from the old board to the new one, seating the new main logic board, installing a new fan and air duct, and finally reassembling the system, connecting fan power, and reconnecting peripherals before powering on. A medium Phillips screwdriver is the only tool required.
