Installing and Cabling the 10BaseT MM-10 (DLXUT)

Order Number: EK-DLXUT-IM

This document provides an introduction, configuration, and installation guide for the 10BaseT MM-10 (DLXUT) option card. The MM-10 is a component of the MM-10 product family, designed to provide 10BaseT connectivity between a host module (such as the DIGITAL MultiSwitch Hub 624T) and network devices. It features both crossover (labeled X) and straight-through (labeled //) 8-pin MJ port connectors, though only one can be used at a time.

The document details how to configure the MM-10 using four onboard jumpers:

  • ACT: Controls when the Activity LED blinks (receive, transmit, or both packets).
  • SQE Test: Enables or disables the SQE test function.
  • FDX: Configures Full or Half Duplex operation.
  • Manual Link Enable: Allows operation with older devices that do not emit link pulses.

The installation procedure involves three steps:

  1. Aligning and pushing the MM-10 into a Carrier Card slot until it's firmly seated.
  2. Securing the card with two screws.
  3. Connecting a UTP cable to the MM-10's port connector and then to a network device.

It notes that the MM-10 is hot-swappable, but its carrier card (DLXMC-MA) is not. For advanced configuration or LED status, users are directed to the DIGITAL MultiSwitch Hub 624T Installation and Configuration manual.
