DECswitch 900FO Quick Start

This document is a quick start guide for installing and configuring the DECswitch 900FO module into various DEChub systems. It targets individuals responsible for installation and configuration, outlining the required items (DECswitch 900FO module, DEChub, cables, tools) and essential network information (IP address, subnet mask, community string).

The guide details three main steps:

1. Module Installation: Provides instructions for physically installing the DECswitch 900FO module into either a DEChub ONE/DEChub ONE-MX (requiring power disconnection, seating, and securing) or a DEChub 900 MultiSwitch (involving power checks, seating, LED verification, and cable connections).
2. Setup Port Cable Installation: Explains how to select and connect the appropriate setup port cable and adapter, ensuring the setup device's baud rate is set to 9600 for console access.
3. Module Configuration: Walks through the console-based configuration process, which begins by accessing the installation menu. It covers setting IP configurations (SNMP community string, in-band and out-of-band IP addresses, subnet masks, default gateway) and module-specific options like FDDI/Ethernet configurations and IPX switch settings, with slightly different menu paths depending on the DEChub model.
