DEChub ONE-MX Installation

This document serves as an installation manual for the DEChub ONE-MX single-slot hub and its full-height DEChub 900 network modules for standalone use.

The DEChub ONE-MX functions as a docking station, providing power to the network modules. It features an Attachment Unit Interface (AUI) for standard Ethernet LAN connections, supporting various Medium Attachment Units (MAUs) like fiber optic, ThinWire, or twisted pair. Additionally, it includes A and B ports for Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) network connectivity, compatible with optional ModPMDs such as Multi Mode Fiber, Single Mode Fiber, or Unshielded Twisted Pair.

Key features of the DEChub ONE-MX include flexible mounting (tabletop or rack-mount), an Out-of-Band Management (OBM) port for remote network management via SNMP/SLIP, and a Setup port for local module configuration. It also supports power failover, allowing configuration into a redundant power system with an optional kit, and features an Optical Bypass Relay (OBR) for maintaining FDDI ring integrity.

The manual provides detailed instructions for attaching network modules, mounting the hub, installing ModPMDs, and setting up an optional redundant power supply. It also covers cabling for AUI, Setup, OBM, and OBR ports, including pin assignments. Troubleshooting guidance is offered through LED status indicators, and information on accessing online MIBs, RFCs, and release notes via anonymous FTP, ftpmail, and email is included.
