DWLPA PCI Shelf

This document serves as an installation guide for the DWLPA PCI shelf and the KFE70 PCI-to-EISA bridge in AlphaServer 8200 systems. Aimed at Digital customer service engineers and self-maintenance customers, it provides comprehensive instructions from initial setup to final verification.

The guide is structured into four main chapters:

1. Installation Overview: Discusses DWLPA PCI shelf placement and configuration rules for system and expander cabinets, including specific PCI/EISA slot usage.
2. DWLPA Shelf Installation: Details the physical installation of the DWLPA PCI shelf, covering cabinet preparation, mounting slide assembly, shelf mounting, cable management rack installation, and connection of hose and power cables.
3. KFE70-BA Installation: Provides instructions for installing the KFE70 PCI-to-EISA bridge and its associated connector module. This chapter also guides users through removing/preparing the control panel, installing the included floppy drive and its cables, configuring the EISA bus using the EISA Configuration Utility (ECU), and installing ferrite sleeves for graphics options.
4. Verification Procedure: Outlines steps to confirm the successful installation of the options, including running system self-tests, using console "show" commands to verify installed modules and devices, and executing the RAID Configuration Utility (RCU) if a KZPSC controller is present.
